Historical review:

It was founded as administrative district on October 12, 1968, by executive decree.

The population is divided in several neighborhoods, hamlets and urbanizations, being the main ones: mud Gardenia, neighborhood Auto Fores, neighborhood Santa Cecilia, neighborhood Los Angeles, Treviso, Las Tres Marias, Viscaya, Los Abuelos, Sagitario, Valencia and the Commercial Zone Or center of the district.

The first inhabitants who founded this town at the end of the 19th century were: Castro Soto families, Marco Astúa Castro, Elias Jiménez Castro, Manuel Esteban Jiménez Castro, Leopoldo Retana, Anselmo Segura, Silverio Fallas and Miguel Cerdas. At the beginning of the 20th century, families of Don Luis Chacón Rojas, Castro Fallas, Monge Castro, Segura Castro, Castro Cerdas, Castro Picado, Castro Jiménez and Retana Castro entered the family.

Even this community has several elderly citizens, since the special condition of rafaeleño is characterized by the purity of their customs and the methodical of their living.

At the moment there are several old men with more than eighty years, among them the Mr. Luis Chacón stands out.
