Historical review
Eighteen years ago, the settlement "Los Guido" was formed with people from all localities of our country and some foreigners. At that time, the Family Bond Law was created, which consisted in granting economic aid to poor people for the construction of decent housing with their respective lot. It was the year 1986, under the administration of Dr. Oscar Arias Sánchez. The vast majority of these people lived on ranches and did not have basic services. Later the "Bono" was granted and they were constructed prefabricated houses which were assigned to the great majority of the settlers. Some others, on their own, built houses called block.
From the District Seven Patarrá, today the Guido, according to executive decree No 3180-G, published in La Gaceta on October 22, 2003, becomes the thirteenth district of the Canton of Desamparados, under the administration of Dr. Abel Pacheco. In this new District we can list some achievements achieved by its inhabitants:
1.- In Education: there are three public schools: in the sectors "Las Letras", Sector Seven and Sector 3. its infrastructure is adequate; But still lacking improvements. It is necessary to emphasize that many of the children of this community attend the primary school called "Christian School", which is a private educational center and administered by the religious denomination "Assemblies of God". Although this school serves the Guido, today by the new territorial delimitation would belong to the District Patarrá.
In secondary education has been built in Sector Five, a school called "José Albertazzi. The school is spacious and with all the comforts, although it still needs certain improvements mainly in the access and to give more security to its surroundings.
2.- Transportation: The paid service of people is provided by a company named "Auto Transportes Los Guido S.A. And has a fleet of units, improving noticeably in recent years. We also have so-called informal taxi drivers or pirates who are already a reality and who provide their service to the one who requires it.
3.- Communication: the telephone service is very widespread in almost all households, as well as cellular service and public telephones. ICE has provided an excellent service.-
4.- The electric fluid is provided by the CNFL and is general in all houses and even on ranches. There is no shortage of public lighting covering all sectors.
5.- Commerce: there is a great proliferation of commercial businesses of all kinds: grocery stores, supermarkets, bazaars, butchers, mechanical and industrial factories, lubricants, warehouses, beauty salons and other business.

It is necessary to achieve more coverage and more specialties because the community is very large and will soon be insufficient.
8.- Black waters: It was announced in the administration of Dr. Miguel Angel Rodriguez the solution to the problem of sewage with the alleged construction of a whole network and a sewage collector; But only the networks were built in some sectors and not the main collector, so these networks will lead to the streams and these to the Cucubres River, so that if this situation is not addressed as a priority by ICAA, we could soon be Prone to an epidemic, especially in the dry season.
9.- Public Services: The collection of garbage is provided by the Municipality of Desamparados; But only once a week, which produces large accumulations of garbage, which spill through the streets, rivers and vacant lots.
10.- Streets and roads: in this sense not much progress has been made, since there is no positive roadway action by the local and national authorities, in the Guido many families have been leaving their lines of ownership And reduced the original width of the streets. It is necessary to build sidewalks and rope and pipe and align the offenders.
11.- Religion: Many religious sects have proliferated in all sectors of the District. However the most important and largest is the Catholic Temple located in Sector 2: Church offered to Jesus Nazarene.
